Presence Score72Punches above $2.7M seed on influencer visibility
Velocity Score56Shipping cadence cooled recently; smaller team
Agent Readiness ScoreMediumSome API access; no public MCP yet

Three scores, refreshed weekly from live market signals rather than a once-a-year analyst report. Presence is how established a vendor is in the market right now. Velocity is how fast they are shipping, raising, and winning customers. Agent Readiness is how easily your own agents can build on them through an API, MCP server, SDK, or CLI. Scores are relative across the vendors we track; the raw inputs ship in the downloadable dataset.

The Solution & Approach

AthenaHQ is a generative engine optimization platform built on a catalog of 3M+ real-world AI responses across 300K+ citation sites. It started as a measurement layer, monitoring where brands show up across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Gemini, paired with an Action Center and an AI copilot that drafts optimization moves.

The direction is from measurement into action. Oracle (May 2026) discovers and actions incorrect or mismatching claims AI models make about a brand, taking the product from "see what LLMs say" to "fix what LLMs say." QVEM estimates prompt volumes to address the "dark traffic" problem (no keyword-volume equivalent for AI queries), and the Knowledge Base enforces brand consistency in content.

The category POV, pushed largely through Andrew Yan's case studies, is that AI search is a leveler: smaller brands can out-rank deep-pocketed incumbents (Nuvadermis 5x'd citation rate against Personal Care heavyweights), and LinkedIn owned content rates as a Tier-A citation surface. Partnerships with Uberall (local, multi-location) and Noble (placement execution) extend the reach.

Best for

Brands that want to measure and improve their citations in AI answers, including smaller players trying to out-rank larger incumbents in AI search.

Pricing & trial

Self-serve from $95/month billed annually (or $295/month billed monthly) for 3,600 credits across 8 LLMs with unlimited RBAC seats, first month 67% off; Enterprise is custom and adds API access. No free trial is mentioned. Pricing.

Agent Experience

How you build on this platform (or wire it into your own agents):

Surface Available Docs
API Yes docs
MCP No
SDK Yes docs
CLI No
llms.txt Yes docs

A reasonable build-on platform: API access (Enterprise tier), an OAuth-scoped MCP launched April 2026, a GitHub presence, and a published llms.txt.
